Your Know-How as a Service

Redgum enables you to change the game in your industry.

Our Redprint process is specifically designed to capture your know-how and translate it into a software platform, navigating you through the release and growth of your system.

Companies like yours are turning their know-how, spreadsheets and processes into software platforms (SaaS).

  • Australian Grand Prix

Australian Grand Prix Corporation needed to be able to manage the growth of their organisation from 40 staff during the year to 16000+ staff for the primary F1 event and 4000 for the MotoGP.

They had a range of spreadsheets, checklists and legacy systems each managing an apsect of their problem.

With Redgum they designed, built and maintained a solution that handled they entire workflow ensuring they could easily scale for each event.

  • OneTrack

After 30 years supporting his clients, a construction lawyer defined the processes required for Legal administration of construction projects to ensure they stay on track.

The platform translates a construction lawyer’s knowledge of what a construction company needs to do in order to stay out of court into defined processes for the companies administration staff to follow.

This platform connects the primary contractor and all their subcontractors through a single platform ensuring everyone involved can play their part at the right time.

  • Eat By Design

One Nutritionist is changing how dietitians and nutritionists interact and earn from their customers.

Connecting practitioners with their customers through an App, changing the relationship from 5 x 1 hour visits per year into a weekly meal plan tailored exactly to the patients needs.

It also changed the payment dynamic from $150 per consult, with the need to constantly find new customers, to a consult combined with a $10-$25 per week ongoing from the same customers.

  • atPace

Two specialist project portfolio management consultants had developed a process to make large corporates agile and adaptive by identifying bottlenecks in resource allocation across the organisation.

The key system supports the management discipline of forward planning and adjustment our clients had pioneered.

  • Orders On the Go

A sales person for a supply company is changing tradies’ relationship with their materials suppliers.

Moving from voice mails left after hours listing plaster, nails and supplies a tradie needs, and replacing it with a tablet app the tradie uses onsite to place the order, nominate the delivery site.

The supplier can response with an ‘Ok’, or ‘can't supply that date’; include invoices, or put them on credit check management; and feed this data into their downstream ordering systems automatically.

  • APS Optima

Redgum built a newspaper digital twin enabling APS to offer an entire suite of products uplifting the pre-press newsprint publishing industry.

Optima contains plans for every edition for every title that a newspaper group owns. The platform has grown to 12 products all working off the digital twin data.

For large newspaper groups everyone now has a complete forward planning picture of every product they produce.

If you’re not leading this change then you will be paying others to do this for you, or becoming uncompetitive or obsolete.

Software technologies have historically been a source of disruption for only a select few sectors, such as banking, gaming, and journalism.

In recent years, this has started growing to every sector and profession, revolutionizing the way every industry operates.

The successful platforms have been constructed upon the essential understanding and insights of a handful of informed, progressive individuals from that particular sector.

People with expertise like yours.

Why build a solution from your know-how?

Building your solution into a technology platform for your know-how can offer numerous benefits.

Automation: A platform can automate many of the processes involved in delivering your know-how. This can free up time for you to focus on other aspects of your business.

Revenue streams: Building a platform allows you to monetize your know-how by charging users for access to your platform. This can create a steady stream of recurring revenue.

Customization: A platform can be customized to meet the specific needs of your target audience. This can make your platform more appealing to users and increase your customer retention.

Analytics: A platform can provide valuable insights into how users are interacting with your know-how. This can help you optimize your platform for better user engagement and satisfaction.

Scalability: A platform can be easily scaled up or down to meet changing demand. This means you can easily grow your platform as your business grows.

Accessibility: A platform allows users to access your know-how from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. This means you can reach a wider audience and increase your potential customer base.

Overall, building a platform for your know-how can provide a range of benefits that can help you grow your business and reach new audiences.

How to spot your opportunity

  • Look at what you know

Through the years, your organization has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge

You have managed to overcome challenges by creating forms and spreadsheets for each aspect of the business (marketing, sales, operations, projects, delivery, accounts management, and quoting)

You could leverage these resources to develop a cloud solution or phone app.

This solution could improve your business performance, create a new product for your customers or vendors, or even generate a new revenue stream by helping your industry address a common issue you already know the solution to.

  • What pains did you have?

How have you managed to solve these issues through process, spreadsheets or organising your people better?

Even if your solution is a bit clunky, only works with 1 or 2 people using it, we can usually translate this to a cloud platform that can scale as far as you want it to.

Your competitors probably suffer the same and will pay if you can provide a solution.

  • Where does it all break down?

If you can't think of a specific solution you have already found, think about the issues you have.

Often the opportunities come from crossovers between departments, between subcontractors, between your customers and your sales, implementation or support teams?

Many of the solutions redefine these relationships and supports or automates the interactions, ensuring they work “as they should” not “as they have evolved” to everyone's benefit.

  • Do you have an existing system?

Redgum provide a retrospective Redprint process to capture the IP embedded in your existing non-cloud systems.

This can then become the basis for a new cloud offering that leverages the learning you have already made, with the changes you wish were there.

How we work

Know-How Commercialisation Plan. When you put your business into the cloud, the rules of the game can change radically. The definition of the customer, the pricing, the feeling and image you want to present to your specific customers and users to talk to their friends about you.

The Know-How Commercialization Plan is a series of workshops for you to understand what you actually have, then what is possible, and finally, what form is the best outcome for you and your solution.

  • Value Discovery. Understanding what you have, who would benefit from it, who will pay for it and critically, what the return will be for you. We develop a range of business model and revenue model options showing the return on your investment.

  • Roadmap. We define the critical criteria for your users to start being successful (and for you to start seeing a return on your investment). We also define the long term growth that will take you from a few early adopters to a main stream market.

Architecture and Design. Through a series of workshops we create the Redprint model. This shows the Apps, workflows, screens, processes and all the technical “parts” needed to make the solution work.

  • Retrospective Architecture and legacy management. Redgum provide a retrospective Redprint process to capture the IP embedded in existing non-cloud systems. This can then form the basis for a new cloud offering that leverages the learning you have already made.

Engineering, Development and Quality Assurance. As areas of the Redprint mature through the workshops we use our Deliver process to detail the Parts to confirm both you and the development team agree what should be built, build it and ensure the result meets the need.

Go Live and Tuning. Once a solution has progressed to a point where users can start receiving Value from the platform, we launch the platform and involve the early adopting customers in the final tuning process.

Expansion. Once we are comfortable the platform delivers the value, that customers are happy with it and that it is stable and ready to scale, we start expanding the platform to cater for a wider audience.

Handover. Our goal is to be with you for life but sometimes as you scale you may decide to do more of the technical support and improvement inhouse. Redgum help you find, train and support you in building the right team for your situation. We can fill the gaps for specialist skillsets and when you need temporary scale for larger requirements.

Transparency is key

For many entering this field software development can be opaque, confusing and there are a lot of bad stories. Redgum’s process provides you the clarity at each step of the journey so you know where you stand throughout.
